Big Business: OK’s 111,900 women-owned companies bring in billions
OKLAHOMA — In its yearly State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, American Express Open reports that Oklahoma is home to 111,900 women-owned companies in 2016, generating an estimated $21 billion in revenues. 43,700 of them are in Oklahoma City.
The state ranked No. 27 in growth over the past nine years and 14th in firm revenue growth.
Women-owned companies across America are up 45 percent over 2007, much higher than the 7 percent growth of all companies. Data was compiled from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Business Owners.
