Kudos: Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation wins world award for excellence

WASHINGTON, DC  – Despite having the state’s highest jobless rate over the loss of oil and gas field workers, Duncan’s Economic Development Foundation (DAEDF) was honored with a silver Excellence in Economic Development Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

These IEDC awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders, honoring organizations and individuals for creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.

Duncan’s won 2015 Annual Newsletter honors for communities with populations of less than 25,000, demonstrating that DAEDF is at the forefront of the economic development profession.

“Not only did they work to provide a necessary service to their community, but their participation in the awards program sheds light on their stellar projects which other communities can now use as a benchmark.” said Barry Matherly, IEDC 2016 Board Chairman.

“It is an honor to receive recognition from an International organization like IEDC and be evaluated among so many other cities across the country,” said DAEDF President Lyle Roggow, “This recognition is valuable in raising awareness of Duncan among our peers in the economic development field, media, and companies looking to expand or relocate.”
